HipCal is an online calendar, to-list, and address book developed by fraternity brothers, Garret Heaton, Pete Curley, Chris Rivers, Tawheed Kader, Glenn Dixon, as undergraduates at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 2005. The award-winning lifestyle management tool and development team was acquired by Plaxo, Inc. in May 2006.

Garret - lead programmer |
|
Garret is currently a junior at RPI pursuing a major in Information Technology. Upon finishing this semester Garret will begin work with Plaxo as a programmer for their calendar team. Garret began working with HipCal as an extracurricular activity while attending RPI. He developed the basic framework for the popular calendar and now spends time enhancing the user interface, using web technologies such as Ajax. In addition to his work with HipCal, Garret is also president of his fraternity, and works on HipCal in the "office" located in the frat house. If he had any free time, he'd be skiing. Garret is a native of New Hampshire.

Chris - programmer |

Chris is a recent graduate of RPI with a degree in Computer Science and Management. Prior to joining Plaxo, Chris worked in Manhattan for Wireless Generation, a leading educational software company. When he's not programming, you can probably find him playing his favorite MMORPG. Chris will join the Plaxo team as a software engineer. Chris is from Fitchburg, Massachusetts. |

Tawheed - programmer |
| Tawheed is a senior at RPI, completing a double major in Computer Science and Management. He was instrumental in the development of the group calendaring features of HipCal. An entrepreneur since third grade, HipCal and other business ventures keep him very busy in addition to the demands of a double major. After graduation, he will head to Mountain View, California with the rest of the HipCal team to take his new job as Product Manager at Plaxo. Tawheed was born in Bangladesh and has resided in Queens, New York since age ten. |

Glenn - programmer |
| Glenn is a senior at RPI majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. Throughout college, he wanted to work on something that helped people, developing an interest in everything from finance to education and especially web programming. Glenn will be able to continue that interest when he joins the Plaxo team as a software engineer. When not programming you will find him at 'I Love NY Pizza' beside a slice and a Coke. Glenn is from North Scituate, Rhode Island. |

Pete - graphics/interface designer, advertising |
| Pete is a senior at RPI majoring in Electronic Media, Arts, and Communication with a minor in marketing and a concentration in advertising. Creator of Plaxoâs hippo logo, Pete was inspired by a children's placemat. Following graduation, Pete will begin work as a product manager integrating the HipCal calendar features into the Plaxo service. In addition to working on calendar improvements to enhance the HipCal user experience, Pete developed guerilla marketing tactics to help HipCal gain visibility for the service including hand made HipCal T-Shirts that were worn around campus. Pete was raised in Scarborough, Maine. |
